Weekly Course Update

It’s been extremely windy out on the course for the past two weeks as many of you would know, the blowers have been going non stop to try and keep the course playable. A massive amount of leaves and sticks cover the course daily while these winds are present and it becomes very time consuming to try and keep the presentation of the course to a good level. Two of our boundary safety nets adjacent to the 13th public tee blew out in the high winds and are now subject to an insurance claim, once approved a new net will be installed, this usually takes at least 6-8 weeks.

The small tee information gardens with the large rock and tee plaques have received new mulch plus a shrub trim and tidy, plus the gardens in the front of the club were also mulched to freshen the appearance of these areas.

In preparation for the upcoming summer all fairways received an application of “gypsum” this week to encourage strong growth, it’s beneficial for breaking up compact soil, especially clay soil. It is useful in changing the soil structure of excessively heavy soils which have been impacted by heavy traffic etc. which we have plenty of.
