Vice President Update

Hi All, let me start by wishing all mothers happy Mother's Day this Sunday. I hope you have a wonderful day in these trying times.

It has been several weeks since we have been able to get together to enjoy each other's company to share a story, a drink and a meal and I for one miss each and every one of your smiling faces. I miss your feedback, well most of it, and I really miss the Friday night raffles, entertainment and our now almost famous members badge draw. Not to mention a cleansing ale and meal. Fortunately, we can still get our fix of our favourite Chinese dishes from Dragon on the Green thanks to Ueli and his staff coming back to provide us with a fantastic takeaway service.

But just because the club is not able to operate as normal does not mean we are not working hard to improve things and keep things in place so when we do reopen, we will be ready to open with a bang.

Fortunately, the government has provided Australian business with several stimulus packages of which we qualify for. Job Keeper being one of the stimulus packages we can take advantage of. This has allowed us to keep the staff we need, involved for when we do reopen, permitting us to roster staff on to do much needed maintenance around the club both inside and out. Some of which is in areas members and the public never see but a timely opportunity to improve all areas of the club.

One area we want everyone to see is the half way bar. With the upgrade well underway, when finished, this will provide members and the community a great space to relax with a drink before, during and after a game, not to mention a great function space. Not only will it look great it will comply with the most up to date food and beverage standards. I also want to thank those people mentioned by Mark in the president's report for their contribution to the success of the half way bar project.

The Club committee and Your Board are working hard with management and staff so the club can continue to move forward in these difficult times.

Watch this space for further updates.

Myself and the rest of the club committee wish you all well, please stay safe. I look forward to seeing you all sooner than later.

Head down and follow thru.

Course Update

Bunker drainage maintenance is still ongoing with another 8 completed this past week, depending on the weather and golf it will require approximately 4-6 weeks to complete all bunkers.

With the onset of winter approaching if members could please be aware of the greens surrounds high traffic areas and vary your walking path to spread the wear equally, otherwise I will have to rope off these areas which can become unsightly.

Golf Carts - If I could also ask members that use the carts that they also avoid worn or thin areas that may occur on the fairways during the next few months. Also, the carts GPS "geofencing" feature has been turned on to stop carts travelling in certain areas to prevent unnecessary wear on the turf.

Presently these areas include:

Front area of the 9th green surrounds, 13th tee left hand side, 15th lower tee area / rear of 16th green. 16th tee, complete teeing area.

Your help with these problems would be greatly appreciated.
