Rain and more rain, it's a remarkable difference to this time last year when we received no rain. Remember when large areas of NSW were in drought with members of our club raising relief packages for drought effected families in Cowra?
While still a long way from completely breaking the drought in some areas of rural NSW, there are promising signs since the start of 2020. Sydney has almost received a full years' worth of rain in the first seven and half months this year.
Between August 7th and 13th North Ryde Golf Club has received 61 mm of rain in contrast with last year where there was none. So, while we feel like we have had enough rain and we can't use the carts on the course, this much needed rain sees most of our dams that supply Sydney city currently sitting around 90-100 percent full. In the middle of this week, Sydney's overall water storage reached 96.5 % of its capacity, the highest level in 3 years!
