Melbourne Cup - A Great Day Had by All!

Monday 2 November saw the hotly contested Vets Championships final.
Congratulations to our division winners and runners up.

This weekend see's the final rounds of the Club Championships. Click on image below to view leaderboard as at Friday Nov 6.  At the conclusion of the final rounds for each grade a brief acknowledgment will be held in the Auditorium for that grade only.

Course Update

Finally, the rain seems to have paused for the time being.  Last week, 117mm fell and filled our dams almost in preparation for the coming warmer weather. The course is in great shape for the final rounds of the championships and hopefully the greens won't be affected by rain.

A couple of the "housekeeping" tasks the greens staff undertake every 3-4 weeks is the trimming around all the sprinkler heads on the course, we have in excess of 560 and takes many, many hours to complete. Another, is edging on all our concrete cart paths - 4.5 km's in total and is also carried out every 3 weeks, just a bit more than your average home edging, just a few fun facts.

Metropolitan  Major Pennant Semi-Final

North Ryde v Twin Creeks. After many months of delays, our Men's Major Pennant team will finally play its Semi Final against Twin Creeks at home on Sunday the 22nd of November starting at 7am. NSW Golf have changed the format for the Semi Finals this year to be Home & Away games. 

It would be great to see as many Members as possible supporting the boys. To be in the last 4 with a chance to win a Pennant is very special, we have the opportunity of a lifetime...  North Ryde has only ever won once before, 38 years ago in 1982.

The away game will be played the following week at Twin Creeks with start time still to be announced but we are expecting it to be around 8am.

Jokes to celebrate the rain over the past week and those brave golfers who will play no matter what!

  • Two long-time golf buddies were standing on a tee box overlooking a river, getting ready to hit their tee shots. One golfer pointed down the river, turned to the other golfer and said, "Look at those idiots fishing in the rain!"
