Captain's Update

This being my first 19th news report for 2021 I would like to wish everybody a Happy New Year and hope you spent the Christmas break with family and friends while managing to play some golf.

This Saturday the 16th of January is the North Ryde Amateur Cup and the North Ryde Amateur shield. The Amateur Cup is a Golf NSW Vardon event with players from all around Sydney coming to our event. The field size this year is as big as we have ever had with 102....

North Ryde Junior Open

North Ryde hosted their annual Junior Open Championship yesterday January 14. Once again it was a very successful day with all players enjoying themselves.

The event hosted quite a few very low markers which was wonderful to watch.

Congratulations to the Winners:

Junior Cup boys - Joshua Todd from The Australian with 66 scratch. This equals the course record. Josh is off a handicap of +5.
Runner-up boys - Jack Roche from Manly with 71 scratch. Jacks handicap is +2.

Lady Veterans 

Happy New Year to the Lady Veterans of North Ryde, I am hoping this year will be better than 2020 and we can get back to playing our 2021 programme.

Welcome to Jacky Parsons, the new President of the NSW Lady Veterans Assoc. The NSW Lady Veterans have started their year off with three open days, the first at Long Reef on the 22nd February, then The Coast on the 8th March, followed by Penrith on the 22nd March. Entry forms are in our folder on the bench in the Lady's locker room.

The first game to the season will see the ball rundown on a Tuesday starting, and the nine-hole competition will begin on the following Thursday. Please check if you are financial. A list of financial Members is posted on "Veterans Corner" board. $22 to join North Ryde and one-off payment of $17 if you want to join the NSW Veterans too.

Any inquiries please see me or Cheryl Ward. We would like to see our newest Members join up.

Hole on One!

As we start a new year and look forward to even better golf games with friends and results for 2021 it's time to congratulations two of our members for their great results last month.

Hole in One's were achieved by three of our members in December'20; Judy Edmiston on the 14th Tee on December 10, Robert Stubbs on the 18th Tee on December 26 and Thomas Jong Kim also on the 18th Tee on December 30.

A hole in one is something golfers can fail to achieve in a lifetime of playing golf, so "Great Golfing", may 2021 bring everyone such good results.
