Ladies Update

The Ladies AGM was successfully held on Monday 26 July via zoom with a large online attendance.

I would like to again give a special thanks to our outgoing Ladies Captain Ann Conway and President Donna Linnegar.

Ann served as the Ladies Captain for 4 ½ years giving generously so much of her time to keep the Ladies competitions and functions running smoothly. All of this through 2020/2021 where we faced unusual times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was very much appreciated and acknowledged by all the members. Congratulations must also go to Ann for being elected as one of the new Directors on the NRGC Board.  I am sure Ann will be a great asset  to the Board.

Donna, our outgoing President of 5 years, has worked tirelessly on the social committee and makes it all look so easy and fun. We are very sad to lose her but no doubt we will be looking to her for support and guidance.

Lastly, I would like to welcome our new Ladies President Ann Dunlevy who has been an active member of the Club for over 17 years. Ann I am sure will be just as amazing as her predecessors as we look forward to the lifting of some of the COVID-19 restrictions.

We would like to also welcome Eve Sheppard, our new Vice-President and Lynne Jackson to the House Committee.

Don't Mess with God

Father Norton woke up Sunday morning and realising it was an exceptionally beautiful and sunny early spring day, decided he just had to play golf. So, he told the Associate Pastor that he was feeling sick and persuaded him to say Mass for him that day.

As soon as the Associate Pastor left the room, Father Norton headed out of town to a golf course about forty kms away. This way he knew he wouldn't accidentally meet anyone he knew from his parish.

Setting up on the first tee, he was all alone. After all, it was Sunday morning and everyone else was in church!

At about this time, Saint Peter leaned over to the Lord while looking down from the heavens and exclaimed, "You're not going to let him get away with this, are you?"

The Lord sighed, and said, "No, I guess not."

Just then Father Norton hit the ball and it shot straight towards the pin, dropping just short of it, rolled up and fell into the hole. It was a 420 Metre HOLE IN ONE!

St. Peter was astonished. He looked at the Lord and asked, "Why did you let him do that?"

The Lord smiled and replied, "Who's he gonna to tell?"
