Last Monday, 132 Members played in our annual Hams Day. This is the highest number we've ever had. We appreciate that our numbers were boosted by the opportunity of winning one of 52 hams which were on offer, nevertheless it was a great turnout. We ran 2 Competitions: a Best 3 out of 4 team event plus a Single Stableford competition.
Winners were:
Best 3 out of 4: Serge Puz, Ron Stewart, Alister McIntosh and Terry Thelwell with a score of 133.
Singles Stableford: Murray Ironfield with 45 points
Congratulations to all the winners and your Committee trusts that everyone enjoyed the day. We hope that next year we will be able to return to the preferred Sausage Sizzle BBQ.
We wish to extend our thanks to both Graham and Marty for their assistance and support to the Committee for this day.
Notwithstanding the fractured year we have all experienced, we have noticed that participation in our Vets' days has markedly increased over the last 6 months. We are now regularly attracting around 110 to 115 players each fortnight. We do hope that this will flow through to our games next year.
Not only for the Vets' but for all members, this year has been a very different year for reasons which do not require any elaboration. We can only hope that as 2021 closes, the worst is behind us and 2022 will be brighter and will allow us to be more confident about the future. With this in mind let us start with a joyous Christmas, followed by a happy and healthy New Year. Your Committee extends these wishes to you all.
Thank you all for your support this year and we look forward to seeing you for our first game in 2022 on 10 January.
