AGM Roundup

The 2022 North Ryde Golf Club AGM was held last Monday 27 June, where the President Mark Mathieson presented an informative narrative on the Club's financial performance and investments of the last financial year.

It was great to see a turnout of 60 members on a cold and dreary night and thanks also for staying back and engaging with the Board and Management at the conclusion of the evening.

Thank you all for attending and for those who missed out, the Annual Report is available on the website under the 'Club Information' drop down.

This Sunday 3 July - FREE Live Music All Welcome

Join us this Sunday 3 July for a fun filled 3 hours of FREE LIVE MUSIC from 3:30pm. Let your hair down and have a dance or just chill to some easy listening Rock & Roll brought to us by "The Sturgeons". It's also the opportunity for us to celebrate our winners from the past month - all members & visitors welcome to join in the fun.

Fun Friday - $2850 Cash

Join us tonight for weekly Friday Night Fun staring with Happy Hour from 4:30pm - 6:30pm, then our ever popular and hotly contested Meat Raffle featuring some great winter roasts. Tickets on sale from 5pm and to finish the festivities off we have our Members Cash Draw. This week we have $2850 cash ready to give away to one of our lucky members, either social or full playing just be here so if your name is drawn you can claim the win!

Sat Live Racing

Best place to be might be indoors this weekend, so if not braving the course, join us inside for the racing or many of the other sporting events with Foxtel and Stan (Watch Wimbledon/Rugby) there is something for everyone on our many screens, happy hour from 12noon -5pm.

TRIVIA Wednesday

FREE Wednesday nights TRIVIA at the Club has become something of a weekly addiction for many families and friends coming together to test their skills.

Trivia starts from 7pm - everyone welcome to join in the fun. Bring your answer on the night to this week's homework question for an extra point to start you off is: Which actress plays Carrie in "Sex and the City"?

Thursday Schnitzels

Thursday nights are fast becoming the best night off for cooking, grab a chicken Schnitzel, chips, salad with gravy and a drink (one house wine or one tap beer) for only $14 at the Dragon on the Green. .

Men’s Master Pennant Update

The NRGC Master Pennant Team played in the semi-final last Sunday at Springwood Golf Club against Woolooware G.C.

Unfortunately, in a very tense tight finish we were beaten by Woolooware 4.5 games to 3.5 games. Woolooware will now go on to play Springwood this Sunday in the Final to decide who wins the Division.

Special mention to Greg Sheaves and Brett Cummerford who both managed to go through the entire season undefeated!

Congratulations to the rest of the Squad in making the play offs - a great effort by all and a credit to our fine Club.

Ladies Update

Stroke -Match Play Qualifying Round 1
This Tuesday 5 July we will be playing Stroke and it is the first qualifying round for the Match Play Championships. Please tell the Pro Shop staff if you wish to qualify and play Match Play when you pay your green fee.

Thursday 7 July - Stableford
The competition on Thursday 7 July has been changed to accommodate the rescheduled Singles Knockout competition. Therefore the competition of the day will be Stableford and not a 2 person Ambrose.

Slow Play

With the return to golf for many members it is time for a gentle reminder on Pace of Play. The club guidelines still require a round to be completed in 4 hours 15 or less with the added guideline that a player is expected to complete their shot in 40 seconds or less. Please find below some hints to assist in this endeavour.

Some Handy Hints:

Keep up with the group in front of you.
If you have lost ground all players are responsible for making up the ground lost.
Walk briskly with purpose towards your ball. Do not amble along.
As you approach your ball be assessing your shot – Direction, distance, club selection.
BE READY TO PLAY – using common sense and good etiquette taking care not to distract other players or compromise safety.
