Winners of
Foursomes Knockout

Over the last 4 weeks, the women have contested the Foursomes Knockout. This is a Match play event in teams of two played on a Thursday using half of the combined daily handicap.

The final round, which had been postponed due to bad weather, was played today between Baeky Lee/Judy Ro and Cathy Breen/Marcia Anderson.

Both teams played some lovely golf, and the match was decided on the 15th hole with Cathy and Marcia the victors.  The final score was 4/3.  Congratulations to you both. Congratulations also to Runners Up Baeky and Judy.

Barbara Evennett - Ladies Captain

Course Report

It's been busy over the last month with our normal winter maintenance tasks being undertaken. We started with reducing the height of all our hedges to a manageable and safe height for staff to maintain while preserving the appearance and protective requirements of the hedges.

Bunker maintenance has commenced, which includes the checking of the drainage system and sand depths in all bunkers, extra sand is added where required. We have only just started the process and this will take 3-4 weeks depending on weather.

Drainage - 2nd fairway 70 meters out from the green on the left-hand side, a troublesome area, has had a series of ag drains installed to keep the area playable during wet weather.

Another very time-consuming job is underway with the low irrigation valve boxes on the edges of fairways being lifted and levelled to match surrounding area and turf.

During this time of the year when the turf is dormant, if all members could please endeavour to vary their walking tracks around greens and tees to help preserve the turf and spread the wear. Thanks for your help with this never-ending problem.

Lastly with the wet periods that we are experiencing, if all members can also be very aware and careful where carts are being driven to avoid where possible these damp areas to again reduce damage and protect these parts from becoming slippery for subsequent players.

Ron Duffy - Superintendent
