Wishing all our competitors both visitors and members a great day out on the course tomorrow as they compete for North Ryde's Annual Amateur Cup. As always we are looking forward to a great day. Click on Event Details below for the Draw.
Bunker Sand: Some Members may have noticed GUR signs in the front right hand bunker of the 17th green for some time now. Overtime a bunker will lose sand due to many factors such as wind, rain and golfers hitting bunkers shots depositing sand onto the green.
The bunker sand we use onsite is a specific bunker sand (Cowra White) that is compatible with our bunker drainage liner. A lot of testing has been done on this particular sand - particle size/shape, water infiltration, firmness and colour. The bunker sand Cowra White, is mined from the quarry in Cowra NSW and is unavailable due to recent flooding in the area. All sand onsite is contaminated and at present they are still unavailable to get trucks into the site. We are expecting delivery early February. Thank you for your patience.

Thanks Norm - First Aid Guru
A huge word of thanks to Member Norm Spalding for his initiative, drive and expertise in undertaking the first Golf Club specific First Aid training course ever undertaken at North Ryde Golf Club. Norm kept all participants very entertained with his amazing enthusiasm and incredible insights gained through over forty years of service with NSW Ambulance.
Norm's recollection of events while tying in specific "real world" examples was highly enlightening. The concentrated eight hour course, conducted over two days was very relevant and while we do hope none of us need to practice our new found skills, you can be rest assured the knowledge and understanding gained through Norm's professional instruction has capability armed us to competently assist should the need arise.
Thanks again Norm from Ariana, Chelleigh, Lian, Marty, Alex, Kelby, Jonty, Riley, Connor and Anthony

Say Hi to Nathaniel
Over the past few weeks you may have seen a few new staff joining the Team as we move into 2023. This week we say hi to Nathaniel a true local born and bred in North Ryde.
Hobbies range from surprisingly lawn bowls in his younger years (yes maybe we could influence him to become a golfer) and follows the Bulldogs - both their highs and lows.
Nathaniel is currently studying for a BA in economics and business analytics at Macquarie University so between this and working at the Club his other hobby the love of travelling might take a bit of a back seat.
