October - Celebrating Holes in One

This month has been bustling with excitement for Holes in One. The first remarkable achievement came from junior golfer Jack Phillips, who had an incredible day during the school holidays on Monday, October 7. Not only was he part of the winning two-ball team and secured the B Grade singles title, but he also scored a Hole in One on the 3rd hole - what an unforgettable day Jack!

Just a week later, member Ian Hastings made his mark by achieving a Hole in One in spectacular fashion during the fortnightly Vets competition on the 14th hole. With the Club Championships in full swing, we hope to witness even more Holes in One and record-breaking swings. We eagerly await the photos and stories that come with these accomplishments.

Congratulations to Jack and Ian, and best of luck to everyone pursuing this often-elusive goal!

Super Saturday Winners

On Saturday, October 12, we enjoyed a bustling and well-attended evening, celebrating numerous achievements.

The first highlight of the night was the draw for our Tooheys Ziggy BBQ winner, with lucky member David Strurtridge (Standing in the back row of our cash draw winners below) claiming the BBQ. Everyone is eagerly awaiting an invitation to summer BBQs at David's this year! Our cash prize winners, from left to right, are Barry Toms, Henk van Diggele, and Michelle Bradley.

Pictured are proud father and son duo Mark Bragg and Cameron Bragg, the 2024 Frank Lockery Trophy winners. We extend our gratitude to Ken Lockery (Frank's son) for taking the time to present the trophy at the Club on Saturday.

Other notable winners include Murray Ironfield, the Commemoration Cup recipient, and Kieran Laughlin, the B Grade Matchplay Champion. The atmosphere at the Club was fantastic, making it a joy to celebrate these successes.

Once again congratulations to all our August and September winners and thank you to those who were able to attend presentations on Super Saturday.

As in previous years we will hold over the December Super Saturday Presentation due to the large amount of functions at the Club in the lead-up to Christmas including the Christmas Opera Extravaganza and Hams Day to name a couple. We look forward to hosting the next Super Saturday in February, 2025.
