Weekly Course Update
Greens renovation update – As of Wednesday the mowing height has been brought back down to 3 mm which is our all year-round height and rolling is back to our normal days. Due to all the renovation fertiliser that has been applied the growth is very strong at the moment to help the surface close in which will take another 5-7 days, following that, the growth retardant applications will resume and with cooler temperatures and low water requirements the surface will start to firm up.
Rainfall totaled 239 mm for the month of March, which was the highest monthly total in 2 years, with dams at 100% capacity and course presentation looking fantastic you just can’t beat a decent drop of rain.
The 10th fairway wetland pond which receives all the rubbish from the road runoff has been desilted using an excavator to remove excess plant growth along with all the silt etc, the area around the pond has been slightly damaged but will recover quickly. Plant growth around the edges will re generate in the coming months and will be back to looking it’s best, it’s been over 2 years since it was last desilted.
