Weekly Course Update
Fresh mornings and a drop-in temperature are slowing growth on course, although still having some warmish days the soil temperature is dropping which slows the growth. It is important leading into the cooler months that we share the wear on course and repair our pitch marks and divots as recovery is a lot slower.
Greens had a de thatch and dust in this week to improve firmness and speed and will have this done fortnightly now that weekly maintenance slows.
Bunkers drainage works will commence in the next couple of weeks and will carry on through the winter period, removal of sand over drainage lines and fresh sand will replace it, drainage lines will be flushed clean during the process. A new type of sand is going to be used at has the best infiltration rate available and also doesn’t break down over time from continuous raking and play. This will assist in bunkers draining quicker during rain and result in them being in play quicker during extended rain periods.
Other general works to take place will be cleaning of garden beds, crown lifting of tress and tree lines and some small pockets of drainage work over winter.
Happy golfing and good luck to the Master Pennants Sunday.
