Weekly Course Update
Bunker work has commenced with the removal of old compacted sand over the drainage lines and pooling areas in the bunkers. Drains are
checked for any damage or blockage then topped up with some 10 mm pea gravel and fresh sand. Below are photos, as you can see in one of them the layer of compacted sand that is the issue, this layer prevents the water from reaching the drainage lines. The other is an example of the extent of the drainage that is in the bunkers which works once the water is able to infiltrate through the sand.
Tees have had a fertiliser application this week, it has been a very busy few weeks and they have been knocked around a bit, cooler temperatures are also impacting the recovery as growth has slowed immensely in the last couple of weeks.
Gardens will be addressed over the coming weeks, with weeds being removed and timber edging repaired where necessary.
As mentioned in the 19th news if any members would like some fire wood for winter speak to Ron or myself.
Lastly a reminder to share the wear and repair pitch marks and divots, if you remove a rope please put it back and don’t step on them, they are there for a reason.
