Welcome Back

Hello to my fellow NRGC family, it’s been quite a while since I have been able to address you with joy and optimism. The last few months of lockdown have been difficult to say the least. We were very fortunate that Golf was still allowed, our Victorian cousins have not been so lucky. Following NSW Government Public Health Orders that changed by the day was always going to be a challenge.

To that end I would like to thank our Management Team, Staff, Marty and his Pro -Shop Team, my fellow Board members and most of all our NRGC Members that with good humour, patience and understanding not only followed the regulations in place but embraced them for every one’s safety despite the frustration. This combined effort led our club to be, what I believe, leaders in compliance and in helping ensure our course and indeed other courses remained open for members and our social golfers in a difficult time.  BUT more importantly we did our best to remain Safe and Healthy.

I’m proud, thankful and humbled by the efforts of our wonderful members.

Sadly, due to the COVID restrictions we have missed many of members that either lived in LGA’s of concern or outside the 5km radius from the club for their allowable exercise. Due to the reciprocal arrangements put in place by Management many members managed games closer to home.

Hallelujah that all changed Monday 11 with distance restrictions lifted and being able to welcome all back to play golf. We still have some operating restrictions in place as per the NSW Government Public Health Orders. The easing of these restrictions comes directly from the community supporting the Government’s COVID Vaccination program in reaching the 70% double vaxed target.

NRGC members also lead the way here with our members surpassing the 80% double vaxed target and still rising.

For Members that are double vaxed we are back playing in 4’s for the most part, but what excites me as the Chair of the Club Committee is being able to have you back in the Club House enjoying the Members Facilities with friends and family again, grabbing a drink and a meal. Monday night was Club Day to celebrate the easing of restrictions and welcome back members and guests into the Club. It was a joy to see those that could make it and despite some trepidation the sign in process was smooth and simple. Wednesday saw the successful return of Trivia and the reopening of our Restaurant, there was good turnout. Friday night is my favourite night of the week MEAT RAFFLES and MEMBERS CASH DRAW are back. Myself, Rosco and Uncle Gordon look forward to seeing you all tonight. The CAR RAFFLE is rebooted this week with the next draw for a chance at the key next Wednesday Oct 20 (see website for full details). So, get your drink dockets from main bar and put them in the barrel for your chance to win. Get your non golfing friends and family to join as social members, to be eligible for all the Club House Discounts, have the chance to win a Car and the Members CASH Draw at $1250 this week, they can’t afford not to be a member!!!

REMEMBER to win a chance at a Key in the Car Raffle and the Members Cash Draw you must be in the club when your name is called out “see you there “.

That’s it from me for now, remember to Stay Safe, Social distance where you can, sanitize your hands (we have sanitizing stations all over the Club), wear a mask when and if required and if you feel unwell stay home and get tested. These simple guidelines will ensure a high level of protection for our friends and family moving forward and not become too complacent as we enjoy the further opening up of our Club, community and state. We are all in this together as they say, so please do your best to protect each other.

Head down and follow thru.
