Organise your partner now for the 2 Person Ambrose event on Tuesday 16 May. Each player must pay an additional $2.50 when you pay the green fees on the day (e.g. $18.50). Please make sure you read the terms of the competition before selecting your partner.
How to play 2 Person Ambrose
- 1/4 combined handicap
- Each player must have 6 Tee Shots – these must be shown on the scorecard
- All players hit off on each hole and then select the best ball to be played
- The position of the ball selected MUST be marked if lifted, all players then play from one club length of the original ball (not nearer the hole), in the same type of lie, e.g. fairway, rough, bunker or hazard.
- The ball may be dropped or placed in all situations.
- Place within 15cm on the green
- Enter score for Player 1 only.
Terms of Competition
- The Pair must have a minimum combined daily handicap of 8 (eg. if one player’s daily handicap is 4 and the second player’s daily handicap is 2 – they cannot play together because combined that is only 6)
- Each player in the pair must have no more than 20 strokes difference in their daily handicap. (eg. If the lowest marker’s daily handicap is 5, their partner must playoff no more than a daily handicap of 25).
NOTE: If a pair’s daily handicaps are more than 20 strokes different, the higher marker will be limited to a daily handicap 20 strokes above the lower marker’s daily handicap. - The pair’s PLAYING handicap on the day will be ¼ of their combined daily handicap.
- Each player must use at least 6 tee shots during a round.
- Tee shots used MUST be indicated on the scorecard.
Entry Fee: $5.00 per pair
Foursomes Knockout: The Foursomes Knockout is a match play event in teams of two played on a Thursday using 1/2 combined daily handicap. A qualifying round will be played on Thursday 18 May. The 16 teams with the lowest nett score will qualify to play in the knockout commencing the following Thursday. The event runs over 4 weeks.
Players who wish to play in the Foursomes Knockout must indicate to the Pro Shop.
Those that qualify will pay an Entry fee of $10.00 per player and this must be paid before the first round. Please place this in an envelope in the slot in the locker room.
- Each player of the team will have alternate tee shots, reversing the teeing order the following week. The tee shots must be recorded on the card.
- In the event of a withdrawal of a player after the draw is done, a player may be replaced before the first round only.
- After the first round, players who are drawn to play in the match play rounds and who do not appear on the first tee, unless very exceptional circumstances exist, will be suspended from competition golf for three weeks.
