Message from the Vice-President
Greetings my NRGC family
As you can see above Friday, 22 September 2023, the day is finally upon us for the opening of an exciting new venue not just for North Ryde Golf Club and its Members but for the entire Ryde Municipality community. After a couple of days of soft opening over the last week to iron out any teething problems, this Friday sees the GRAND OPENING of the Club’s new Sports Bar.
The Board sees this as not just an exciting new business opportunity to provide the Club with new revenue streams to ensure our future financial stability but something much, much more. It is indeed a beautiful new facility for our Members and the wider community to come and enjoy each other’s company. The Board decision to revamp a rarely used and money losing area of the club while based on long standing and sound business principles (we did not reinvent the wheel) is just part of the reason, myself and the Board believe wholeheartedly that our Members deserve beautiful new facilities to match our fantastic Golf Course, the best Group 2 golf course in NSW.
A big thank you to the many people that have seen this plan come to fruition. Firstly our builders James Clifford Constructions, that got it done on time and on budget allowing us to have the venue ready for winter sporting finals as well as upcoming spring and summer events. Next the many volunteers – all Members giving of their time helping put things together assembling and installing the furniture, all of whom have a belief and love of the Club and its future. And well, apart from hard conversations and sleepless nights by many involved in the process our Management team lead by our tireless GM Anthony and his team in the office and the shop floor.
I am most proud of our young staff that have embraced training and learning new skills and their commitment to the success of the Club and the service of its patrons.
I’m proud of the fact that we provide a fantastic and ever improving work place as well as endless employment opportunities for our local community.
NOW to business. I want to see as many of you as possible Friday night,
- There are extra meat trays on offer for the meat raffle,
- There is a guaranteed $2000.00 Members’ cash draw someone will win, you have to be there to collect. Wait there is more !!
- Fantastic ‘On Special’ cocktails, all day happy hour for tap beers and selected wines and spirits.
- The new food offerings for the Sports Bar and Club lounge as well as your favourite al a carte Chinese in the dining room.
- And most importantly come and marvel at your new facility with the biggest indoor TV in the district, let’s not forget the best views in the district while sharing a drink and meal with friends and family.
I know the members and guests will make the Grand Opening a huge success.

Tuesday, 7 November Melbourne Cup all through the club and how brilliant on the big screen in The Sports Bar with food and drink specials.
Saturday, 2 December the North Ryde Golf Club Christmas Party detail to come .
