Weekly Course Update

Weekly Report

Course condition has held up well and will only improve following the rain last week, some may have seen the photos and video on the clubhouse monitors, it certainly didn’t miss us and will only benefit the course leading into the start of summer.

The pros teaching tee is currently being reconstructed, a concrete pad which will be covered with astro turf will be located at the back of the tee and a widened/lowered turf teaching area will also be available. With the combination of both the tee will be kept in a standard of the rest of the tees for coaching and beginner lessons.

Some of you may have noticed areas on the course, in particular on the outskirts of tees and green surrounds that look dry and damaged (see picture below). This is the result of billbug, generally they will not encroach onto tee or surround surface due to the application of insecticide although the areas that are affected can be treated but it turns into a costly exercise and sufficient irrigation needs to be applied after the application to move it into the soil profile. So, if you notice signs similar at home come and see us or go to your local hardware and purchase an insecticide.

With turkey day approaching make sure you have a good putter in the group as being and enjoyable day and a 4 ball Ambrose we may trick a few holes up.

Happy golfing and festive season to all.
