Ladies Update

Summer Cup
The Summer Cup was reduced to 5 rounds this year with Round 3 being cancelled as the course was closed due to heavy rain in the preceding days.  Round 2 was almost washed out as well but 24 players braved the conditions to complete the round. All other rounds had an average of 106 players with some great winning scores each week ranging between 37 and 44 points.

The winner of the Summer Cup was Anita Lee with 10 points. Runner up was Carmen Fife on 8 points. There were three people on 7 points, so third place had to be decided on stableford points.  Toni Alexander & Linda Cordner both had 130 stableford points and Janet Moffatt had 162 stableford points making her the third placegetter.  Congratulations to all!

Season Opening Day

The new golf year started with a Stableford round and a return to a two-tee start. With a very wet start quite a few ladies pulled out but missed a perfect golf day as the weather improved dramatically as the day went on.  With fewer players the two-tee start worked well with no holdups.  We will continue to monitor the pace of play as numbers return to normal.

Pace of Play Tips

  • Be at the tee and ready to play 15 minutes before your tee time.
  • Move on to the tee as soon as the previous group have left it so that you can hit off as soon as the group in front is out of range.
  • Watch the flight of every shot, until it stops, not just your own.  This will result in less searching time and fewer lost balls.
  • Keep up with the group in front of you.
  • Be efficient on the putting green If the next tee is clear, when two people have completed putting, they should then proceed to the next tee and tee off before marking their cards.

Representative Teams

The Silver II Pennant team will have their first match next Friday 12th February.  They will play Concord at Pennant Hills. We wish the team good luck.
